Mathilakam Grama Panchayat is a coastal village panchayat situated in Kodungallur Taluk of Thrissur District in the state of Kerala, India. The Panchayat represents a unique blend of coastal and inland geographical features and has achieved notable progress in social, cultural, and economic sectors. Koolimuttam and Pappinivattom villages fall under the administrative jurisdiction of the Panchayat.

Geography

Mathilakam Grama Panchayat is enriched with coastal plain landscapes. The Arabian Sea lies on the western side of the Panchayat. The Canoli Canal passes through the Panchayat area, enhancing its ecological and geographical significance. Water bodies such as Cheriyathodu and Perunthodu also contribute to the natural richness of the region.

The major employment sectors in Mathilakam Grama Panchayat include fishing, agriculture, trade, construction, and Gulf migrant employment.
