🏛️ Travellers’ Bungalow (T.B.)
The building that now functions as the Travellers’ Bungalow (T.B.) was the former Pappinivattam Village Office, which has been restored under the Muziris Heritage Project. It was originally constructed during the British colonial period. This bungalow once served as a resting place for senior police officials and other government officers during their travels. It was also reportedly used as a detention cell by the police, where several accused political figures were brought for interrogation.During the British era, members of the Indian National Congress, and later leaders of the Communist movement, are said to have been subjected to strict and often harsh police procedures at this location. Over time, the building functioned as the Pappinivattam Village Office before the office was relocated to Matilakam.Today, as part of the Muziris Heritage Project, the structure has been preserved as a protected heritage monument.
